Andreas Bäckström

Andreas Bäckström has a diverse work experience spanning over different companies and roles. Andreas started their career at AFC Energy plc in 2007 as an Industrial Designer, where they worked on designing and developing prototypes. Andreas gained expertise in manufacturing processes during this time.

In 2011, Andreas was promoted to the position of Principal Designer at AFC Energy plc. In this role, they led a team of design engineers and was responsible for improving the fuel cell system. Andreas successfully delivered the 2nd generation system on time.

From 2014 to 2016, Andreas served as the Product Development Leader at AFC Energy plc. As part of the senior management team, they managed and developed the product development team and ensured compliance with regulations. Andreas also provided technical support to external site activities and other departments.

Starting in 2016, Andreas joined Heed Studio Ltd as the Design Director. Here, they led product development in a new design business and introduced efficient ways of working for the team. Andreas'sfocus was on creating and developing new products for the cycling market.

Currently, Andreas is working at LiNa Energy as the Director of Product Development and as a Principal Designer from May 2023 onwards.

Andreas Bäckström obtained their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Industrial Design from the University of Gothenburg between 2000 and 2003. Following this, they pursued further education and received a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Industrial Design from the same university from 2004 to 2006.
