Daniel Matthews has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Daniel served as the Director of Engineering at LiNa Energy, where they focused on the commercialization of sodium-metal-chloride batteries. Prior to that, they were the Head of Engineering at Trumeter, where they led a team in completing commercial, development, and research projects and introduced IoT technologies into the company's products. Daniel also worked at Iceotope Technologies as the Head of Electronics Engineering, overseeing projects with multinational industry leaders, and as an Electronics Design Engineer, contributing to the development of a prototype Exascale High-Performance Computer system. Before that, they worked as an Electronics Engineer at Ultra Electronics, where they designed electronics for a control system prototype, and at Scanlite Visual Communications, where they held various roles in electronics design, testing, field engineering, technical support, and production.

In 2007, they started their education at Blackpool and The Fylde College, where they obtained a National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Daniel continued their studies at the same college and obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from 2009 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2014, Daniel attended The University of Manchester, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Later, from 2019 to 2021, Daniel pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management at The University of Sheffield.

In addition to their formal education, Daniel obtained various certifications, including a Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute in March 2022. Daniel also acquired the title of MCMI from the Chartered Management Institute in September 2019. Furthermore, they received a PRINCE 2 Foundation certification from QA Ltd in February 2018, and an Agile Thinking and Project Management certification from Jule Digital in January 2018. Additionally, Daniel gained knowledge in Introduction to Systems Engineering from UCL in February 2015, and they completed the course "An Introduction to SysML and MBRE" offered by ATEGO GROUP LIMITED in September 2014. Lastly, in September 2011, they became a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and obtained the title of MIET.
