Benjamin Shapiro has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Benjamin currently holds the role of Director of Digital Content at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where they lead all digital content activities for the Chamber Music Society. Prior to this, Benjamin worked as an Associate Director of Content at Squarespace from 2020 to 2023. Benjamin also served as the Head of Creator Content at Spotify from 2017 to 2020, where they developed Spotify's artist and podcaster-focused content offering. Benjamin's experience includes being a Contributing Writer for The New Yorker from 2009 to 2019, where they focused on culture and wrote weekly listings and longform essays. Benjamin also held positions as the Director of Content Development at Complex Networks in 2016, and the Senior Editor and Editor-in-Chief at VICE Media, Inc. from 2011 to 2016. Additionally, Benjamin served as the Head Programmer at Spectacle Theater from 2012 to 2014, where they curated and screened lost and forgotten films.

Benjamin Shapiro pursued their higher education at Sarah Lawrence College from 2002 to 2006. During this time, they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Liberal Arts, English, and Media Studies. Continuing their educational journey, they enrolled in the NYU Tisch School of the Arts from 2009 to 2011, where they completed their studies and received a Master of Arts degree in Media/Cinema Studies.
