John L.

John L. has worked in the tech industry since 2000. John started their career at Tencent as a Backend Development Engineer, where they were responsible for the development and maintenance of the company's website, implementation of the website, testing, and maintenance and upgrading of the existing website. In 2008, they joined Linden Lab as a Software Engineer and worked their way up to Senior Engineering Manager and then Metaverse Senior Engineering Manager. As Senior Engineering Manager, they helped launch Tilia, Inc as a business and maintained communication with internal stakeholders to clear the runway for their team to make great software.

John L. attended Xiamen University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and Science. John then attended Columbia University from 2004 to 2006, where they earned their Master of Computer Applications - MCA with a Major in Mathematics and Computational Finance.
