Olaf Jorgenson

Olaf Jorgenson has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Olaf started their career as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Rhodes Junior High School. Olaf then moved on to become the Middle School Principal at The American School of Tegucigalpa in Honduras. Olaf also taught Theory of Knowledge in the high school's International Baccalaureate Program. Olaf then joined Mesa Unified Public School District as the Director of Science, Social Sciences, and World Languages. After that, they served as the Headmaster of Hawai'i Preparatory Academy, a K-12 day and boarding school in Waimea. Olaf later became the Head of School at Almaden Country Day School, where they led the institution as an independent day school. Olaf also has experience as a board member for Valley Montessori School and Hillside School. Currently, they are the Founder and Co-Coordinator of the National Enrollment Action Roundtable (NEAR), a coalition of leaders in schools striving to combat enrollment decline. Additionally, Olaf works as a Leadership Coach at Lingo Live. Olaf is also a board member of the Klingenstein Advisory Board at Columbia University, where they collaborate with educational leaders to review and envision future initiatives.

Olaf Jorgenson's education history begins in 1985 when they attended Washington State University. Olaf pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a double major in English and Philosophy. Olaf also obtained a teaching certification during this time. From 1990 to 1992, Olaf continued their education at Washington State University and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree with a focus on English. Afterward, they attended Arizona State University from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration.

In 2010, Olaf participated in the Klingenstein Fellow, Heads of School program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Additionally, they completed the Klingenstein program at the same institution, although the specific dates are not provided.

As for additional certifications, Olaf obtained a certification as a Certified Leadership Coach from the Center for Executive Coaching in December 2022.
