Alain le Loux has over seven years of work experience in venture capital and board advisory roles. In 2014, they became a General Partner at Cottonwood Technology Fund, a top-tier early stage deeptech venture capital fund with a geographical focus on Southwest USA and Northern Europe. In 2017, they became an Investor and Member Board of Directors for SoundEnergy BV, a technology company that has developed Thermo Acoustic Energy Converter, as well as an Investor and Member Board of Directors for LipoCoat BV, a spin-off company of the University of Twente (MESA+ nanotechnology institute). In 2020, they became a Board Advisor for Valotoire Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Paris, and a Member for Top Tier Impact. In 2021, they became a Member Board of Directors and Investor for Sencure, a company that has developed an ultra-low power biometric sensing chip. Alain is also a Member of fCN - Founders Carbon Network, an online community of business members.
Alain le Loux has a varied educational background. Alain completed a VWO from Jacobus College, Enschede in 1989, followed by a Double Master's Degree in Computer Science and Industrial Engineering & Management (+ additional Communications Management) from the University of Twente in 1994. Alain then went on to earn an Executive MBA - Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Business School Netherlands in 2001. Most recently, they completed a Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA®) certification from Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI) in 2021.
