José Francesconi is responsible for overseeing the development and construction of the Company’s Latin American projects, including the Caucharí-Olaroz project. He has more than thirty years of management experience leading the development and execution of large capital projects in the petrochemical, oil and gas, fertilizer, and energy industries. Prior to joining Lithium Americas, Mr. Francesconi worked for Worley, a global engineering company where he served as Operations Director and Board Member for Argentina. He was accountable for the development and completion of Argentine projects for oil and gas, mining, agriculture, and infrastructure, including leading the teams through transitions from CH2M Hill to Jacobs, then to Worley. Prior to that, Mr. Francesconi developed an extensive career with Dow Chemical where he held several leadership roles and international assignments in Canada, the USA, and the Netherlands. In his last position, he served as Associate Engineering Director, leading the Dow Engineering Organization towards project execution at sites in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Chile. Mr. Francesconi then joined Bureau Veritas where he served as PMC Project Director and delivered the $1 billion world-scale Urea and Ammonia project for YPFB (Yacimientos Petroliferos Bolivianos). Mr. Francesconi holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Universidad Nacional de Sur, Argentina.
