James Powers

James Powers has a diverse work experience in the medical field. James worked as a Physician at Lowcountry Infectious Diseases, P.A. from August 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they served as an Infectious Diseases Fellow and an Internal Medicine Resident at Wake Forest Baptist Health from June 2004 to June 2009. James also held the position of Infectious Disease Internal Medicine Residency Clerkship Director at Grand Strand Medical Center – HCA starting from October 2014. Additionally, James served as the President of Strand Infectious Disease, PC starting from February 2013. Moreover, they were the Ryan White Clinic Medical Director at both Little River Medical Center and CareTeam from October 2012 to September 2012 and from April 2011 to September 2012 respectively. James also held leadership roles such as Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Chairman, Infection Control Committee Chairman, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee Chairman at Grand Strand Medical Center – HCA starting from April 2011.

James Powers completed their Bachelor's degree in Science (Biology) from Union University from 1994 to 1998. James then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center from 2000 to 2004. James obtained additional certifications including ABIM, Infectious Diseases from The American Board of Internal Medicine in October 2010, HIV Specialist from the American Academy of HIV Medicine in August 2009, and ABIM, Internal Medicine from The American Board of Internal Medicine in August 2008.
