Nicholas Billings has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Nicholas is currently serving as the Vice President of Litigation/Risk at LivCor, a Blackstone Portfolio Company since June 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Maddie Mae Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on raising funds for research and treatment-resistant eating disorders using psychedelics.
Before their involvement with Maddie Mae Fund, Nicholas owned their own law firm, Outhouse Law, from January 2022 to May 2023. Nicholas also served as the Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Aimco Apartment Homes from April 2005 to March 2021. Additionally, Nicholas gained valuable legal experience as an Associate at Holland & Hart LLP from September 2000 to April 2005 and as a Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. Courts of Appeals from August 1999 to August 2000.
Earlier in their career, Nicholas worked as a Press Aide for the United States Department of Health and Human Services during the Clinton Administration, where they drafted press releases and contributed to communications efforts. Nicholas also served as an Analyst at the Office of Government Ethics from June 1993 to December 1994. Nicholas began their professional journey as a Staff Reporter for the Park Record/Peninsula Times Tribune from January 1991 to June 1993.
Nicholas Billings attended Groton School from 1984 to 1987, where they completed their secondary education. Nicholas then went on to study at Dartmouth College from 1987 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English. After a short break, they pursued their graduate education at the University of Virginia from 1996 to 1999, receiving a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law.
