Andrew Barker

Andrew Barker has over 30 years of work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Andrew is currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer at Lixa since June 2022. In their previous roles, Andrew worked as a Director at WA Pharmaceuticals, where they provided consultancy services for biotechnology and pharmaceutical commercialization. Andrew also worked as a Senior Manager, R&D Tax at RSM Australia, a Senior R&D Consultant at Insight Business, and a Senior Consultant at Ingeneus Solutions, where they provided strategic and business development consulting services. Prior to their consultancy roles, Andrew held research positions as a Research Fellow at the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research and as a Research Associate in Pharmacology at the University of Western Australia. Andrew also worked in research and development at amaxa and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cologne. Andrew holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Adelaide.
