Benjamin Schachtman

Benjamin Schachtman is an experienced journalist and educator currently serving as the News Director at WHQR Public Radio since October 2020 and as Managing Editor at Local Daily Media since June 2018. Previously, Benjamin held positions as Assistant Editor and Multimedia Journalist at Local Voice Media Wilmington from October 2016 to June 2018. With a strong background in storytelling across various media platforms, Benjamin also taught core writing and English Literature classes as an Adjunct Professor at Manhattan College from September 2010 to August 2014 and has experience as an Adjunct and Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University. Benjamin earned a Ph.D. in American Literature and English Literature from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in English Literature from New York University.
