Sammy Maitland

Sammy Maitland is a seasoned creative professional with a diverse background in the visual arts sector. Currently serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees and Board Trustee for Bedford Creative Arts, as well as a Creative Producer at the London Museum, Sammy co-chairs the Women in Leadership network. Previous roles include Exhibitions and Events Coordinator at Mall Galleries, Clore Emerging Leader at Clore Leadership, and Mentee at I LIKE NETWORKING. Sammy has extensive curatorial experience, having worked as Assistant Curator at Departure Lounge Gallery, where responsibilities included programming exhibitions, managing budgets, and liaising with artists. Sammy's earlier positions include Assistant Curator for external projects at UH Arts, Exhibitions Assistant at Departure Lounge, and Exhibition Assistant at the University of Hertfordshire. Sammy holds a Master’s degree in Art and Visual Culture from the University of Westminster and a Bachelor's degree in Photography from the University of Hertfordshire.
