Larry "Boomer” Foster is President of Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 real estate company, as part of HomeServices of America. In his role, Foster oversees the company’s 200+ offices and 9,000+ agents across 7 states and the District of Columbia. He is responsible for the organization’s strategic business direction and operations, leading the firm to deliver area homebuyers, sellers and renters with the best service and expertise for all their real estate needs. Long & Foster Real Estate is part of The Long & Foster Companies, which also includes Prosperity Home Mortgage, Mid-States Title, Long & Foster Insurance, Insight Inspections, Tailored Move and HomeServices Property Management.

Foster brings a wealth of business experience and leadership skills to Long & Foster. He is a trial lawyer by trade, with nearly eight years of experience in that field practicing in South Carolina. He is licensed to practice in the Circuit Court, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of South Carolina as well as the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals

His background made it a natural for Foster to succeed in the real estate business. After becoming a sales associate with Long & Foster, he quickly rose from a promising rookie to top producer in just his first year in the business. In 2007, he was appointed as the branch manager of the Long & Foster Kingstowne Centre office in Alexandria, Virginia, where he further honed his skills in management, recruiting, coaching, training and business development. Known for helping real estate agents grow their businesses, the number of agents at Kingstowne Centre more than doubled during the time Foster managed the office.

In 2010, he was tapped to take over as regional vice president for Long & Foster’s Northern Virginia region, responsible for the management of 16 branch sales offices. In 2011, he was appointed senior vice president heading Long & Foster’s Northern Virginia and West Virginia region. He was appointed as president of Long & Foster Real Estate in 2014. Foster led the firm’s Northern Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., Montgomery County and Southern Maryland, and North Carolina markets, before taking over leadership of the company’s full footprint in 2021.

Foster is a licensed broker in Virginia, and he is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he received an English degree in addition to his J.D. As a sports enthusiast and a four-year letterman for the South Carolina Gamecock football team, Foster brings a competitive edge to everything he does. Foster is committed to providing Long & Foster sales associates with tools, information and support they need to help them best meet the desires of today’s buyers and sellers.
