John Ruth

John Ruth is an experienced operations leader in the power generation industry, currently serving as Operations Director at LongviewPower since June 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing safe and sustainable power generation for the PJM grid. With a background that includes roles as Operations Manager at PurEnergy and asset management at NRG Energy, John has demonstrated expertise in managing various departments including Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering. Previous experiences range from plant management at NAES Corporation and FirstEnergy to engineering roles at Allegheny Energy, supported by a foundational education in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University and advanced training at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command. John also brings valuable military experience as a Submarine Nuclear Machinist Mate and instructor in the US Navy.
