Sophie Rugg

Sophie Rugg is a Senior Scientist currently working at Lonza since August 2024, bringing extensive experience in process development and analytical techniques. Previously, Sophie served as a Senior Scientist I at Crescendo Biologics Limited from January 2020 to August 2024, where responsibilities included downstream process development and line management of junior staff. Additionally, Sophie was a Research Scientist at Crescendo, focusing on protein purification methods and various analytical procedures. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Scientist in Analytical Development at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies from November 2018 to December 2019, contributing to chromatographic and spectrophotometric technique development. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology from the University of York, an MRes in Structural Biology from Birkbeck, and a BSc (Hons) in Medical Sciences from the University of Leeds.
