Bobby Bates serves LATA as Vice President, Infrastructure/Deactivation & Decommissioning responsible for evaluating growth opportunities in the DOE-EM and DoD market and oversight of LATA’s infrastructure and D&D portfolio.
Bobby comes to LATA after spending over 30 years in the Department of Energy contracting business. Bobby most recently was at the DOE Hanford Site working with both prime contractors and small business subcontractors. Bobby’s roles included Vice President and Deputy Vice President in Infrastructure and Site Services as well as Deactivation and Decommissioning consultation. Bobby also spent time in the UK supporting NDA nuclear site decommissioning. Prior to that Bobby spent 15 years at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site in operations and training. Bobby began his DOE career at Pantex as an Operating Engineer.
Bobby has also provided support as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor, Operational Readiness Review team members, Readiness Assessment leader, and Project Manager. Bobby has led teams through transitions both internally and externally and has been instrumental in the implementation of Conduct of Operations in all the organizations for which he has been called to lead.
Bobby has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Thomas Edison State University.
