Erick Jovel

Erick Jovel serves as a Professor of Trumpet at California State University, Northridge, since October 2020, and concurrently performs as 2nd Trumpet with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since November 2018. Jovel held the position of Associate Director for the UCLA Bruin Marching Band from March 2023 to April 2024, and previously taught as a Professor of Trumpet at Loyola Marymount University from August 2017 to May 2023 and at The Master's University from August 2016 to September 2018. Additionally, Jovel worked as a Trumpet Teaching Artist with YOLA, The Harmony Project from February 2017 to October 2020. Jovel earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance, Instrumental Conducting, Brass Pedagogy, and Sacred Music from the University of Southern California in May 2020, a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from UCLA in 2015, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance, Trumpet from California State University, Northridge in 2007.
