Amy Hood

Amy Hood is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in the arts and cultural sector. Currently serving as the Director of Communications at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and as a Communications Consultant at Amy Hood Communications since March 2023, Amy Hood previously held the position of Chief Communications Officer at the Museum of Contemporary Art from January 2022 to February 2023. Prior to that, a significant role was undertaken as the Senior Communication Lead at the J. Paul Getty Trust from August 2011 to January 2022, overseeing external affairs and guiding major projects. Early career experiences include positions at Ruder Finn, LAXART, MAK Center for Art & Architecture, and the UCLA Fowler Museum. Amy Hood holds a Master’s degree in Art History/Theory and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from UCLA, as well as a Certificate in Journalism from Los Angeles Pierce College.
