Ed Trapido currently serves as the Interim Dean of the LSU School of Public Health and has held numerous prominent roles in academia and public health over several decades. Trapido has been a faculty member at Louisiana State University since 2008, where responsibilities include serving as the Wendell Gauthier Chair of Cancer Epidemiology and Associate Dean for Research at the School of Public Health. Additionally, leadership roles include Chair of the Scientific Steering Committee for Tobacco Free Louisiana at the Louisiana Cancer Research Center and Director of the Global Research and Evaluation Center at the University of Miami. Trapido's experience encompasses international evaluation work with the IAEA and strategic leadership positions in organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the American College of Epidemiology. Educational credentials include a Doctorate and Master's degrees from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, alongside earlier degrees from the University of North Carolina and Stony Brook University.
