David Martin, Ed.D., currently serves as the Superintendent for the Louisiana Special School District since May 2023. Prior to this role, David Martin held the position of School Superintendent at the Tennessee School for the Blind from June 2017 to May 2023. David's educational leadership experience also includes serving as Principal for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) or DoDDS from July 2010 to May 2017, and as a Social Studies Instructor in Atlanta Public Schools between 2008 and 2010. David Martin began a teaching career at East Ridge High School in Lake County Schools from 2006 to 2008. Educationally, David Martin earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Liberty University, an Educational Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from National Louis University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from Tennessee State University.
