Benjamin Arenas has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmacy. Benjamin started their career as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at BSA Health System in 2005 and later worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from 2008 to 2017. In 2017, they took on multiple roles, including Director of Pharmacy at GUADALUPE COUNTY HOSPITAL, Consultant Pharmacist at SUNRISE CLINICS and the City of Santa Rosa, and Pharmacy Manager at Route 66 Pharmacy, where they focused on improving inventory management processes. In 2018, Benjamin became an Adjunct Faculty member at the UNM College of Pharmacy. Most recently, they have worked as a Regional Consultant Pharmacist at Wexford Health Sources and as the Director of Pharmacy at Lovelace Health System starting in 2021. Benjamin's extensive experience in various pharmacy roles demonstrates their expertise and dedication to the field.

Benjamin Arenas completed their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree in Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the years 2013 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued prerequisite coursework in Chemistry at Amarillo College from 2005 to 2013.

In terms of additional certifications, Benjamin obtained the Test-to-Treat Certification Program from the NEW MEXICO PHARMACISTS ASSOCIATION, registered as a Pharmacist with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy in November 2023, received the IHI Open School Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety from IHI in 2022, completed the Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate Program from the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) in 2021, obtained the Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate from the NEW MEXICO PHARMACISTS ASSOCIATION in 2018, and became a registered Pharmacist in New Mexico with the New Mexico State Board of Pharmacy in November 2017.
