Emily Newton

Emily Newton is a highly experienced professional in child development and psychology, currently serving as a Senior Writer at Lovevery since April 2022. Prior to this role, Emily worked at WestEd for nearly eight years, holding various positions including Senior Research Associate and Child Development Technical Writer. Emily has significant academic experience as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at both Dominican University of California and Stevenson University, along with previous teaching roles at the University of California, Davis, where involvement in student mentoring and independent research projects focused on social and emotional development in families with infants was notable. With a solid foundation in early childhood education gained through various teaching and training positions, Emily holds a PhD and MA in Developmental Psychology from the University of California, Davis, as well as a MA in Child Development and a BA in English.
