Caroline Whalen has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Caroline began their career as a Bookkeeper at MK Business Machines, Inc in 1995. Caroline then worked as a Business Manager at Suburban Publishing, Inc from 1996 to 1997, where they handled financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tracked monthly advertising.
From 1997 to 2000, Caroline served as an Assistant Controller at Richard Meier & Partners, Architects, responsible for producing and maintaining financial statements, forecasting end-of-year expenses, and assisting with year-end closing.
Caroline then worked as a Law Associate at Gallagher, Walker, Bianco & Plastaras, Esqs from 2004 to 2005, conducting trial court motion practice, discovery practice, and legal research and analysis for appellate briefs.
From 2005 to 2014, Caroline served as a Controller at Gertler & Wente Architects, LLP where they managed the firm's finances, implemented project management/financial system, and oversaw accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for 23 employees.
Caroline then moved on to work at Gensler from 2014 to 2016, holding the position of Regional Finance Operations Manager. In this role, they increased accounts receivable collections, prepared financials, and budgeted for multiple offices.
Recently, Caroline has been Director of Finance at both Lovingly and UFN since 2016, where they provide financial leadership and oversight. Caroline has extensive experience in finance and operations management, and has successfully implemented systems and strategies to optimize financial performance.
Caroline Whalen began their education journey in 1991, enrolling at the University of Hartford. Caroline pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting, completing their studies in 1995. Following this, they went on to attend New York Law School from 2000 to 2003, earning a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree specializing in Law.
