Bernard Collins has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Bernard started their career at Syrrx, Inc as a Research Associate I/II in 2001 and then worked as a Research Associate II at Sagres Discovery Inc. In 2004, they joined The Scripps Research Institute as a Research Assistant I before moving to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus as a Graduate Student/Post-doctoral Fellow. At the University, they conducted cell biological and biochemical analysis and structural analyses related to T cell development and TCR cross-reactivity. In 2012, they returned to The Scripps Research Institute as a Post-doctoral Fellow, where they focused on biophysical and structural analyses of Toll-like receptors, lamprey antibodies, and chimeric antigen receptors. Bernard then worked as a Scientist at Plex Pharmaceuticals from 2017 to 2019, where they continued their scientific research. In 2019, they joined The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson as a Scientist in X-ray Crystallography. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Scientist/Sr Scientific Lead in X-ray Crystallography at Loxo Oncology at Lilly.
Bernard Collins received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from Colorado State University in 2001. Bernard then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, completing it in 2011.
