Steven Barclay

Steven Barclay has a diverse background in various roles related to health and safety management. Steven started their career as a Police Constable with the NZ Police in 1998. After that, they worked as a Health & Safety, Special Projects + IT Manager at Carpet Court New Zealand, where they developed a successful health and safety program for the company. Steven then joined Oceana Gold as a Human Resource Coordinator, where they were responsible for recruitment and health and safety practices. Later, Steven worked as a Change Management Special Projects Team member at the Department of Corrections, leading the implementation of the Integrated Practice Framework. Steven also worked as an H&S / HR Consultant at Inclusive, providing consulting services. Steven then joined Port Otago Limited as a Senior Safety & Risk Advisor, before moving to Lyttelton Port Company, where they held various roles including Senior Health & Safety Advisor, Safety Systems Specialist, and Head of Health & Safety. Currently, they are the Chief Health and Safety Officer at Lyttelton Port Company. Overall, Steven has extensive experience in health and safety management, leadership, change management, and project delivery.
