Kristen Motzer

Kristen Motzer has extensive experience in instructional design and learning development. Kristen has held various roles in different organizations, including LRN, NYU Langone Health, Institute for Personal Leadership, NeuroLeadership Institute, Stanford University, Weill Cornell Medicine, JesuitNET Design Services, Xavier University, LexisNexis, and PavlishGroup.

At LRN, they served as the Director of Learning Design, leading a global team in creating off-the-shelf and custom Ethics and Compliance and soft skill micro/learning campaigns for global companies. Kristen was responsible for learning design strategy, innovation, roadmap, and house style.

At NYU Langone Health, Kristen worked as the Lead Instructional Designer, overseeing the transition of dental school faculty, content, and learning experiences to online delivery. Kristen developed learning strategies and directed a team to meet strategic goals of increased learner engagement.

As a Senior Instructional Designer at the Institute for Personal Leadership, they developed content strategy for a start-up, focusing on leadership development. Kristen redesigned instructor-led training into scalable digital learning solutions.

At the NeuroLeadership Institute, they held the role of Instructional Design Manager, leading a global team in producing innovative learning solutions on various topics. Kristen implemented a collaborative product development lifecycle and increased project capacity and delivery efficiency.

At Stanford University, Kristen served as the Canvas Instructional Design Product Manager. Kristen led the university-wide adoption of the Canvas LMS product and managed a team in providing training and support to faculty.

At Weill Cornell Medicine, they were the Instructional Design Manager, leading a team to expand IT faculty service offerings and improve faculty experience with educational technology.

Kristen also worked as a Course Design Coach at JesuitNET Design Services, where they provided guidance on course design. At Xavier University, they held the role of Manager of Instructional Design & Technology, establishing and managing a team to support technology in the classroom and develop online degree programs.

Kristen has previous experience as a Human Factors Engineer at LexisNexis and as a User Experience Consultant at PavlishGroup.

Kristen Motzer holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Technical and Scientific Communication from Wright State University. Kristen has also obtained additional certifications, including a Brain-Based Conversation Skills certification from the NeuroLeadership Institute in 2016 and a Learning Technology Leadership Program certification from EDUCAUSE in 2013. In 2021, they completed the NXT-GEN Fellowship for Moral Leadership Graduate program at The HOW Institute for Society.
