Daniel Pierpont

Daniel Pierpont has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Currently, they are working as the Vice President of Wholesale Market Policy at LS Power since May 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President at Cogentrix Energy, LLC from July 2021 to May 2023.

In 2020-2021, Daniel worked at a renewable energy and asset management early stage startup where they served as a Renewable Development, Finance, and Buyout Fund Expert.

Before that, Daniel worked at Competitive Power Ventures, Inc. from 2015 to 2020, initially as a Manager from January 2015 to January 2017, and then as a Director from January 2017 to June 2020.

From 2007 to 2015, Daniel worked at Concentric Energy Advisors as a Senior Project Manager and Principal from January 2012 to January 2015, as a Project Manager and Principal from April 2009 to January 2012, and as a Senior Consultant from August 2007 to April 2009.

Daniel's earlier experience includes working as a Senior Analyst at Wolf Asset Management from April 2005 to May 2007, a Portfolio Manager at Rikoon Carret Wealth Management from January 2004 to April 2005, and a Senior Consultant at Navigant Consulting from April 2001 to March 2003.

Daniel started their career as an Associate at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) from August 1999 to April 2001 and as a Senior Associate at Generation Ventures Associates from May 1997 to August 1999.

Daniel Pierpont completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Affairs with a focus on German Area Studies at Tufts University. During their time at Tufts, they also participated in a study abroad program at the University of Tübingen, where they specialized in International Relations and Economics. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in International Political Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
