Laura Fonseca has a diverse work experience history. Laura is currently working as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs and Initiatives at the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) starting from April 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, including Adjunct Professor, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Director of Career Services Office. Laura also worked at Indiana University School of Medicine as an EIC Project Member and at Indiana University Bloomington in roles such as Senior Associate Director for Strategic Alumni Engagement, Senior Associate Director of Employer Relations, and Associate Director of the School of Global & International Studies. Laura also worked at Peace Corps as a Regional Recruiter and as a PCV in the Education Sector. Laura started their career as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Florida in 2007.
Laura Fonseca is currently a doctoral candidate at Indiana University Bloomington, pursuing a degree in Higher Education. Laura also holds a Graduate Certificate in Education Law from the same institution. Prior to their doctoral studies, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Latin American Studies - Development from the University of Florida. Laura's undergraduate education was completed at Indiana University Bloomington, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Studies. In terms of additional certifications, Laura has obtained the Standards of Professional Practice Institute certification from NADOHE (National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education) in April 2023. Laura also holds certifications in the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® from GS Consultants, obtained in December 2014 and September 2014, respectively. Additionally, Laura is certified as an Open Water Diver by PADI.
