Manuel Calzolari

Manuel Calzolari's work experience includes serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Luca Faloni, a role they started in March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at UniCredit from September 2018 to February 2023, where they held the position of Data Scientist - Senior Professional. In this role, they were responsible for designing and prototyping machine learning models for predictive analytics and NLP tasks, as well as implementing pipelines for entity resolution on a big data scale.

Before joining UniCredit, Manuel worked at HARMAN International as a Natural Language Understanding Engineer from February 2018 to September 2018. Here, they focused on localizing and designing components specific to the Italian market for Samsung's Bixby voice assistant.

From September 2016 to February 2018, Manuel worked as a Data Scientist at BTData - BTO S.p.A. Group. Manuel'sresponsibilities included designing and prototyping machine learning models for cross-sell prediction, deploying deep learning models for churn prediction, and testing recurrent neural network models.

Prior to that, they held multiple roles at BTO Research from February 2016 to September 2016. These roles included being an internal software developer where they designed and implemented a computer vision pipeline for an OCR system, a data scientist where they designed machine learning models for NLP tasks, and a data science consultant where they developed an anomaly detection model for billing data in a logistics company.

Manuel also worked as an independent contractor from May 2010 to February 2016, specializing in software development and applied machine learning. Additionally, they worked as an Usher at Fondazione Arena di Verona for a brief period in 2004.

Manuel Calzolari holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering of Computing Systems from Politecnico di Milano. Manuel also has a High School Diploma in Scientific-Technological studies from Liceo Scientifico Girolamo Fracastoro. In addition to their formal education, Manuel has obtained various certifications, such as Google Cloud Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals from Coursera in 2022, NVIDIA DLI Certificate in Accelerating End-to-End Data Science Workflows from NVIDIA in 2021, and a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in 2018. Manuel has also completed several online courses and certifications in subjects like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science between 2013 and 2016.
