Karen Wu

President & Co-Founder at Lucerna

Karen Wu is the President and Co-Founder of Lucerna, a company that creates software to help scientists organize and analyze their data. Prior to Lucerna, Karen worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University Medical Center, studying mRNA splicing and its role in regulating neuronal protein diversity and synapse formation. Karen also worked as a Jane Coffin Childs Fellow at JANE COFFIN CHILDS MEMORIAL FUND FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH, studying RNA trafficking and the role of local protein synthesis played in axon guidance and spinal cord injury. Karen received their undergraduate degree from Weill Cornell Graduate School in 2000.

Karen Wu earned their Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University and their B.S. in Pharmacy from Rutgers University.
