Olwethu Mlaza has an extensive work experience starting from 2008. They began their career as a Test Technician at Cape Advance Engineering, where they focused on writing automated tests and conducting performance curves for engine testing. They then worked as a Production Technician at Associated Energy Services, overseeing assistant technicians, monitoring fuel quality, and issuing production reports. Subsequently, Olwethu became a Production Manager, responsible for operations, health and safety, and managing a team in a biogas-fueled power station. They later took on the role of Engineering Manager at the same company, overseeing the plant's day-to-day operations and successfully installing coal-fired boilers. Olwethu then joined Lucky Star - An Oceana Group Company as a Mechanical Engineer, performing mechanical and maintenance duties. They quickly rose through the ranks and held positions such as Production Manager/Plant Engineer and Site Operations Manager/Plant Engineer, where they focused on maintenance, operational efficiency, and ensuring continuous production. Currently, Olwethu serves as the Operations Director at Lucky Star, responsible for the overall operations of the company.
Olwethu Mlaza has an education history that includes a B-Tech Degree in Project Management from Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2015. They also obtained a certificate in GCC Factories from the Department of Labour - South Africa in the same year. In 2010, Olwethu completed an Engineer's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
