Phil Bickerdike has a diverse work experience in the field of user experience design and innovation. Phil started their career in 2006 with the Telstra Chief Technology Office, where they worked as an Emerging Technology Specialist, developing prototypes and analyzing emerging technology trends. In 2009, they joined Telstra as an Emerging Technology Manager and later became the General Manager of UX Innovation in the Chief Technology Office. In these roles, they led the User Experience team, managed a group of UX practitioners, and was responsible for the end-to-end user experience of projects in the innovation program.
In 2014, Phil worked as a Strategic Designer at Huddle design and as a User Experience Designer at Alivate, where they provided design services for iPad apps and conducted user research. In 2017, they joined Australia Post as a UX Researcher and, more recently, became the Regional Director for Australia & New Zealand at LUMA Institute. In addition, they are also a Certified Instructor at LUMA Institute. Throughout their career, Phil has demonstrated their expertise in user experience design, prototype development, and technology strategy analysis.
Phil Bickerdike has a diverse education history. From 2014 to 2016, they attended Swinburne University of Technology where they completed a Master of Design with a specialization in Design Anthropology. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2002, Phil studied at Deakin University and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computronics. During the same period, they also earned a Bachelor of Computing from Deakin University, focusing on Computer Science and Software Development. Before attending university, Phil attended Western Heights Secondary College from 1995 to 1997, although the specific degree or field of study they pursued during this time is not specified.
