Alex Baker

Alex Baker is an experienced professional in community and economic development, currently serving as the Assistant Economic and Community Development Director for the City of Fayetteville, North Carolina, since November 2018. Baker holds an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and a Nonprofit Management Certificate from Duke University, along with a Community Development Academy certification from the UNC School of Government. Additionally, Baker is an active representative on the Lumbee Tribal Council, serving as the District 13 Representative and as Chairman of the Federal Recognition and Government Affairs Committee. Baker's prior experience includes roles as Public Affairs/Communications Director and various positions within the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, along with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
