Rohit Modi

Rohit Modi has extensive experience in the field of engineering and materials development. Rohit currently works as a Technical Project Lead at Lumileds. Prior to this role, they held positions at Soraa as a Phosphor Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer, where they led the development of luminescent materials and innovative technologies for lighting products. Before Soraa, Rohit worked at QD Vision Inc. as a Principal Engineer/Senior Materials and Process Development Engineer, focusing on quantum dot research. Rohit also has research experience at Naval Research Laboratory/SFA Inc. as a Research Scientist and Research Assistant, where they worked on projects involving thin film deposition techniques, nanochannel glass materials, and rapid prototyping. Earlier in their career, Rohit worked as a Research Scientist at the National Research & Technical Consortium, evaluating magnetic materials and performing failure analysis.

Rohit Modi holds a Ph.D in Materials Science from The George Washington University, which they completed in 2002. Prior to that, they earned a Masters of Science in Materials Science from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology in 1995. Rohit began their educational journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Punjabi University in 1992.
