Computational Meshing Engineer at Luminary Cloud

Julian Marcon has had a varied and accomplished career in computational meshing engineering. In 2013, they began as a Software Validation Engineering Intern at Open Engineering, where they then became an Applications Engineer in 2014. In 2015, they returned to Open Engineering as a Development & Applications Engineer. From 2016 to 2018, Julian was a Research Assistant at Imperial College London and a Graduate Teaching Assistant. During this time, they also had two visiting researcher roles, at San Diego State University and ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab. In 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at NASA Ames Research Center. In 2022, Julian began working as a Senior Operations Researcher at 6 River Systems, where they reported directly to the CTO and decreased travel distances across warehouses by up to 15% using a new routing algorithm. Julian is currently a Computational Meshing Engineer at Luminary Cloud.

Julian Marcon began their educational journey in 2004, when they graduated from Collège Saint-Louis, Liège with a Certificat d'Enseignement Secondaire Supérieur (CESS) in Mathematics, sciences and modern languages. Julian then attended New York Institute of Technology, where they graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering in 2013. In 2014, Julian Marcon returned to Imperial College London and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) & Diploma of Imperial College (DIC) in Advanced Computational Methods. Finally, they completed their education in 2020, graduating from Imperial College London with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) & Diploma of Imperial College (DIC) in Aeronautics.
