Samantha Coons

Samantha Coons is an experienced scientist currently serving as Scientist II at Luminex Corporation since February 2018, where responsibilities include supervising a team of scientists. Prior to this role, Samantha worked as Scientist I at the same company, focusing on developing assays utilizing gold nanoparticles for DNA detection, optimizing assay performance, conducting DNA/RNA isolation and RT-PCR, and supporting clinical evaluations of diagnostic tests. Samantha's earlier experience includes a role as Research Associate II at Nanosphere, which was acquired by Luminex in 2016, and as a Lab Technician at Sterigenics, where Samantha gained expertise in various laboratory techniques. A forensic internship at the Illinois State Police Crime Lab further contributed to Samantha's diverse skill set. Samantha holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell & Molecular Biology from Bradley University, obtained in 2008.
