Cat Borgiasz, ACRP-CP has over 10 years of experience in clinical research and management. In 2020, they began working as a Clinical Trial Manager at Lumos Diagnostics, where they are responsible for overseeing assigned clinical trials, ensuring systematic and efficient clinical study initiation, oversight, and closeout. Her responsibilities include investigator and study site selection, drafting study documents, and verifying informed consent procedures.

Prior to this role, Cat worked as a Clinical Research Associate II at Lumos Diagnostics, where they traveled to investigative sites to conduct site qualification, initiation, interim monitoring, and close-out visits. Cat also verified source data and evaluated investigator compliance with the study protocol and regulations.

From 2014-2018, Cat worked at Georgetown University Medical Center in various roles, including IRB Program Coordinator, Institutional Review Board Alternate (Scientist), and Program Coordinator. As IRB Program Coordinator, they were primarily responsible for the Biomedical and Pediatric Oncology IRB Committee A and processing administrative submissions reviewed by the National Cancer Institute Central Institutional Review Board (NCI-CIRB). As Program Coordinator, they were responsible for creating, sending, and tracking invoices, journal vouchers, interdepartmental invoices, transfers, budgets, and purchase orders.

From 2011-2013, Cat worked as an Administrative Assistant/Intern at Georgetown University Medical Center, where they worked with the CRU clinical staff and other institutions’ administrators to facilitate research studies and their patient care. Cat also served as main contact on CRU to all investigators, their research teams, and study participants.

Prior to this, Cat worked as a Swim Coach at Woodley Recreation Association Inc. from 2011-2013, where they coached and provided instruction to children aged 3-18 at daily swim practice. Cat also planned and strategized swim meets to maximize team points, and provided professional advice to swim team parents and management.

Cat Borgiasz obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2013. In 2021, they obtained the ACRP-CP® certification from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, as well as becoming a Member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Cat also obtained certifications from Coursera in 2020 for Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials and Understanding Clinical Research: Behind the Statistics (with Honors). In 2021, they obtained certifications from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY, for Good Clinical Practice Course (US FDA focus) and HIPAA and Human Subjects.
