Sheryl McKinnon has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Their most recent role was as the Director of Clinical Education at Lutheran Health Network, where they were responsible for overseeing the quality, regulatory, infection prevention, risk management, and research aspects of the network's hospitals and physician group. Prior to this, they served as the Market Chief Quality Officer for Lutheran Health Network, where they played a key role in strategic planning, financial stewardship, and operational support. Before joining Lutheran Health Network, Sheryl held leadership positions at Lutheran Hospital, Dupont Hospital, Parkview Physicians Group, Parkview Huntington Hospital, and Parkview Health. Their roles included overseeing quality, regulatory, infection prevention, risk management, and medical staff services, as well as leading patient-centered care research and development initiatives. Throughout their career, Sheryl has consistently achieved improved CMS ratings, Leapfrog Safety Grades, and regulatory compliance.

Sheryl McKinnon's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Magna Cum Laude, from Indiana Wesleyan University from 2005 to 2007. Sheryl then pursued a Master's of Science in Nursing Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University from 2011 to 2013. Additionally, Sheryl has obtained the certification of Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality® (CPHQ) from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) in December 1999.
