S Raj Shakay has an extensive work experience spanning over 13 years. In 2021, they were appointed as Director: Product + Materials and Senior Manager, Global Materials Development at LuxCreo and Senior Scientist, Product Development Lead at Covestro. From 2016 to 2021, they were employed by DSM as Senior Scientist, where they were responsible for leading diverse and intercontinental teams of technology and business professionals to achieve important technological goals. From 2015 to 2016, S Raj Shakay worked as an ORISE Fellow at the FDA, where they studied and implemented the right conditions for production of new materials used for additive manufacturing. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Freelance Technology Consultant. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Doctoral Research at The University of Akron, where they worked primarily within organic photochemistry, non-Newtonian rheology of melts and thermosets, UV curable 3D Printing, peptide presentation and controlled therapeutic release, and physical modeling of unique phenomena in 3D Printing. From 2008 to 2011, S Raj Shakay was an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Tulane University, where they studied the fundamental mechanics of adhesion, and translated these mechanics to technology using a bio-mimetic approach. S Raj also served as a Board Member for NEOSVF and NSF ICorp Program, and as a Tutor and Resident Advisor.
S Raj Shakay received their Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University in 2010. Prior to that, they attended Little Rock Central High School from 2002 to 2006. S Raj then went on to pursue a Ph.D in Polymer Science from The University of Akron, which they completed in 2016.
