Valentin Plugaru

Valentin Plugaru serves as the Chief Technology Officer at LuxProvide since April 2020, overseeing the operations and technology department, including the MeluXina Luxembourg supercomputer and future quantum and AI computing initiatives. As a member of the Industrial and Scientific Advisory Board for the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking since May 2024, Valentin provides insights for supercomputer acquisition and operation while leading the AI work group to draft strategic programs. Additionally, Valentin holds a board member position at LU-CIX Management GIE and previously worked at the University of Luxembourg in various roles related to high-performance computing. Valentin's early career included research assistance in HPC systems at the National Institute for Research and Development in Microtechnologies. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Information and Computer Science from the University of Luxembourg and a specialization in Economic Informatics from the Universitatea Româno-Americană din București.
