Shawna Pandya, MD

Shawna Pandya, MD has an extensive work experience in various roles related to space medicine, research, and advisory positions.

Shawna currently holds the position of Medical Strategic Research Advisor at Orbital Assembly Corporation since July 2022. Before that, they served as the Director of Medical Research at the same company from January 2021 to July 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Medical Advisor at Orbital Assembly Corporation from May 2020 to December 2020.

In addition, Shawna Pandya has held the role of Vice President of Immersive Medicine at Luxsonic Technologies Inc. since January 2020.

Shawna also worked as a Resident Physician in Family Medicine from July 2015 to December 2016 and as a Resident Physician in Neurosurgery from June 2012 to June 2015.

In addition, they have served as an Advisory Board Member at Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) Canada since September 2015. SEDS Canada is a student-run organization that promotes involvement in space development, research, and enterprise.

Shawna Pandya has also obtained a Private Pilot license from South Cooking Lake Aviation Academy in May 2014.

Shawna Pandya, MD received their Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Neuroscience from the University of Alberta in 2006. Shawna continued their education at the same institution and obtained their MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree in 2012, specializing in Medicine. In 2007, they attended the International Space University, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Space Studies in 2007. In 2016, Dr. Pandya obtained the Duolingo Spanish Fluency certification at an advanced level from Duolingo.
