Scientist II at Lyell Immunopharma

Riley Allen has a diverse work experience in the field of immunology and biotechnology. Riley began their career as an Immunohistochemical Production Specialist at BioSB, where they gained experience in cGMP production and participated in the centralization of technical procedures. They then worked as a Technology Transfer Intern at UC Davis InnovationAccess, where they evaluated invention disclosures and prepared materials for marketing UC Davis inventions. Riley also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Mills College, where they created educational lab manuals and devised immunology experiments.

In 2015, Riley joined the University of California, Davis as a Graduate Student Researcher and later became a Postdoctoral Researcher. They made significant contributions to the development of biomaterials for immunomodulatory applications and secured funding from the NIH. Riley showcased strong leadership skills by mentoring undergraduate students in the lab.

Riley's most recent role was at 23andMe, where they worked as an Associate Scientist in Immune-oncology. Currently, Riley is working at Lyell Immunopharma in the role of Scientist I.

Riley Allen earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from UC Santa Barbara, where they attended from 2010 to 2014. Subsequently, Riley pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Davis, from 2015 to 2020.
