Christina Soma, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in various research and therapy roles. Christina recently joined Lyssn as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Utah from October 2020 to July 2022.
From August 2019 to July 2022, they served as a Graduate Research Fellow at Modum Bad, where they focused on interdisciplinary and international research to address mental health issues.
Before that, Christina worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Utah from May to August 2019. Christina gained practical experience as a Therapist in Training at the Center for Human Potential from May 2017 to May 2019. During this time, they received supervision from licensed psychologists and gained experience in individual therapy and neuropsychological assessments.
From August 2016 to August 2018, they served as a Therapist in Training at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where they worked under the supervision of licensed psychologists and provided therapy and conducted neuropsychological assessments.
Christina also gained research experience as a Research Fellowship at the University of Utah from August 2016 to May 2018. Christina started their research career as a Research Assistant at the University of Utah from August 2014 to May 2016.
Christina began their professional journey as a Research Fellow at Gettysburg College from May to August 2013.
Throughout their career, Christina has focused on research and therapy to address mental health issues, seeking innovative solutions and collaborating with researchers and clinicians globally.
Christina Soma, PhD obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mathematics and Psychology from Gettysburg College between 2010 and 2014. Christina then pursued their Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational Psychology at the University of Utah from 2014 to 2019. Following this, they continued their education at the University of Utah, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Counseling Psychology from 2014 to 2021.
