Akshay Mathkar

Akshay Mathkar is an experienced professional in materials process engineering with a strong background in battery materials processing and scale-up, currently serving as the Director of Materials Process Engineering at Lyten since October 2022. Prior to this role, Akshay held multiple positions at Superior Silica, including Senior Manager of Materials Engineering and Director of Engineering, where significant achievements included designing and scaling up a silica production plant and leading engineering teams. Additional experience includes serving as a Strategic Advisor at NanoCym, a Senior Materials Development Engineer at Intel Corporation, and contributing as a Process Engineer at BioCrude and an Engineering Intern at 3M. Akshay's academic credentials include a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Rice University, along with a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
