Steven Smith

Steven Smith is a Senior Managing Director in the Legal department at Macquarie Group, serving as the Global Head of Legal for Macquarie Asset Management Real Assets since July 2007. Prior roles within Macquarie Group include Managing Director and Global Head of Legal for Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, and European Head of Legal from 2016 onward, alongside Senior Counsel from 2007 to 2016. Prior to Macquarie, Steven Smith was Counsel at Mill Group, focusing on PFI projects, and In-House Counsel at Amey, specializing in PFI projects and M&A. Earlier experience includes working as a Solicitor at Lovells LLP and Norton Rose Group, specializing in finance law across multiple international locations. Steven Smith holds an MA and LLM in Law from the University of Cambridge.
