Darren Horne has diverse work experience in business analysis, user experience (UX) consulting, and user research. Darren is currently working as a Senior User Researcher at Made Tech. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior UX Consultant at Nomensa and was also a Business Analyst at Nomensa working on various projects. Darren also worked at Civica as a Business Analyst and UX Consultant, where they gained experience in working with public and private sector clients. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Commercial & Data Analyst at Opus Professional Services Group and as a Business Manager and Personal Banker at Barclays, where they managed customer portfolios and built trusted relationships with clients.
Darren Horne completed their Bachelor of Arts with Honors degree in IT Management for Business (Professional Placement) from the University of Chichester, where they studied from 2006 to 2010.
Darren has also obtained several additional certifications, including a UI/UX certificate from Great Learning Academy, obtained in April 2022. Darren has completed three Interaction Design certifications, namely Interface, Structure, and UX Foundations, from LinkedIn in April 2022. Additionally, Darren completed certifications in Facilitating UX Workshops and The One-Person UX Team from Nielsen Norman Group in November 2020. Darren also obtained a Personas certification from Nielsen Norman Group in November 2019.
Furthermore, Darren has certifications in Requirements Engineering and Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, obtained in December 2018 and March 2018, respectively. Darren holds an IFS Certificate in Business Banking and Conduct from the Institute of Financial Services, obtained in October 2015. Moreover, they obtained a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification from Scrum Alliance in January 2019. Darren is also an associate member of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Additionally, they have an edX Verified Certificate for Querying with Transact-SQL from edX.
