Emile Swarts has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. They currently work at Made Tech as a Lead Software Engineer since September 2021. Prior to this, they had their own company, Emile Swarts Ltd, where they worked as a Freelance Software Engineer, specifically on the Prison Technology Transformation Programme for the Ministry of Justice. In this role, they acted as a solutions architect and helped plan, design, and build CI/CD Pipelines for multiple vendors, including building high traffic DNS and DHCP servers hosted in AWS.
Before starting their own company, Emile Swarts worked at Made Tech as a Senior Engineer from May 2013 to September 2019. During this time, they were involved in the Form Builder project for the Ministry of Justice, which aimed to create digital services quickly and easily based on GOV.UK design patterns.
Prior to working at Made Tech, Emile Swarts gained experience as a Website Developer at Fatbeehive from October 2009 to January 2013, and as a Web Developer at Imbali Studio from February 2007 to July 2009.
Emile Swarts attended Tswane University of Technology from 2003 to 2007, where they studied Computer Science. Emile also has multiple certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS). In 2017, they obtained the AWS Certified Developer - Associate (DVA) certification. In 2018, they achieved the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certification. Emile furthered their qualifications in 2021 by obtaining the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification. Most recently, in 2022, they earned the Well-Architected Proficient certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
