Derek Beaman

Derek, a Senior Principal, leads MKA’s Convention Center Specialist Group. His design portfolio includes over 55 convention center projects with a combined cost of built work over $10 billion, and a corresponding program area over 26 million square feet. Through his 25 years of engineering experience, Derek has developed a holistic understanding of the structural and nonstructural systems that come together in a convention center facility, allowing him to identify and target the appropriate structural material quantities early in design and, throughout the design of the project, deliver on those initial targets.
