Nawid Cina

Nawid (Sourosh) Cina has a diverse work experience, with a focus on humanitarian and gender equality issues. Since August 2021, Nawid has been serving as the Vice President of Mahboba's Promise, leading their crisis response and expanding their relief operations. Previously, in 2021, Nawid co-founded the Future Leaders for Gender Equality initiative, aiming to address sexual harassment in Australian high schools. Nawid also worked as a Program Associate at the Champions of Change Coalition, where they contributed to gender equality reform through research, policy review, and stakeholder management. Prior to that, Nawid was the General Manager at Mahboba's Promise, where they developed a growth strategy and improved operations. Nawid (Sourosh) also gained legal experience as a Practical Legal Trainee at the Refugee Advice & Casework Service and as a Paralegal at Mills Oakley. Additionally, they held roles as a Program Coordinator and Sponsorship Coordinator at Mahboba's Promise.

Nawid (Sourosh) Cina completed their education with a Practical Legal Training Program at The College of Law Australia in 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Technology Sydney between 2014 and 2020. Additionally, Nawid spent a year at Universidad de Granada in 2018-2019, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a focus on History & Sociology. Before entering university, they completed their NSW Higher School Certificate at Epping Boys High School, although the specific years are not provided.
