Chris Lorenz

Chris Lorenz has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology industry. Chris currently holds the role of Chief Technical Officer at Mahzi Therapeutics, starting in April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Astellas Gene Therapies from 2016 to 2022, where they held several positions including Senior Vice President, Technical Operations, Vice President, Technical Operations, Vice President, Process Sciences & Manufacturing, and Senior Director, Process Sciences & Manufacturing. From 2012 to 2016, they worked at Grifols Diagnostics Solutions as an Associate Director, Downstream Manufacturing, Senior Manufacturing Manager, Fermentation, and Manufacturing Manager, Technical Services. Earlier in their career, they worked at Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics as a Senior Process Engineer from 2010 to 2012, and at Genentech from 2004 to 2010, holding various engineering roles.

Chris Lorenz attended Stanford University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemical Engineering from the same institution. In addition to their formal education, Chris also obtained a certification in "Being a Good Mentor" from LinkedIn in April 2021.
